Rebirth

Rebirth: oil on canvas with embedded butterfly, 24″x36″

What it birth but simply a change of location? A baby born has left the womb to be nurtured in her mother’s arms. The glorious celebration of Jesus’ resurrection is all about His body being raised from the dead; from the darkness of the tomb to the brilliance of a garden in the early morning. Jesus spoke of birth when He was preparing His disciples for His death and resurrection. John 16:21-22 says, “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born, she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you; now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” May the deep and eternal joy of our new life in Jesus resound in our souls today! He is risen, He is risen indeed!
