These words spoken by Jesus of Nazareth are forever true: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” Jesus didn’t put any qualifiers, caveats, or conditions to His words. There are neither exemptions nor excuses. They are such simple words that even a child can understand; you are supremely blessed and happy when you make and cultivate peace.

I envision this happening in the garden, with dirt under my fingernails, the sun on my back, and hope in my heart. This space of humble planting is a holy place. With God’s grace as our halo we can work together to plant and cultivate peace. May we then gather and enjoy the fruit of golden peace around the table of the Lord.
