Last week as I slowly awakened to a new day, these words were present in my mind: “Encouraged by the Light.” I really consider them to be message of peace from the Lord. It seems that social media and the news act as accelerants and amplifiers of all the unspeakable sorrows of the world. Right now the earth is filled with violence, and we all have a front row seat to observe via our smart phones. Today I choose to put my attention on light. The wonder of sunlight warming the hills in Spring, coaxing the green to rise. If our local star, the sun, can bring this much beauty to a landscape, how much more can the light of God’s eternal love encourage our souls today?
