We Are All Still Here
This is my first painting of 2021. The list of sorrows and wrongs in the first early weeks of 2021 is growing exponentially. In contrast, this painting is an invitation for us to remember that we are indeed all still here. May we be more present to bring goodness, truth, and beauty to our families, friends, and neighbors. In the midst of cruel chaos and anger, may I always open my heart and my hands to my neighbors. Today my heart is full of gratitude for all those who have encouraged me so much. We are blessed to have thoughtful and kind family and neighbors. May we reach out in turn, being peacemakers and heart menders. My favorite parable of Jesus has always been the Parable of the Good Samaritan. May I be the neighbor who shows mercy and wraps the wounds of the needy. We are on this road together; when thirsty, may we share water, and when we stumble and fall, may we help each other get back up. We’re still all here.
