Let There Be Light

Let There Be Light; oil on canvas, 24″x36″

I’m currently working on paintings inspired by the 7 days of creation. I love how the entire creation account starts with God speaking light into being. In this painting I wanted to express the power and energy of this new light; the vibrant dancing of particles as they coalesce, merging and spinning across the darkness. The brilliance scatters, never lessening in essence, always bringing illumination. When Jesus said, “I am the light of the world,” (John 8:12), I believe He was speaking of this vibrancy and wonder.
