Of the Light
Of the Light…oil on canvas, 24″x36″
I crave light. Every morning, as soon as I can, I open all the curtains and shutters of our home. For the day to start, I must see the daylight. I was raised in an Eichler house in the 1960’s. There were huge plate glass windows all across the back of the house. Even on the darkest Winter day our home was flooded with natural light. What a gift to always be bathed with light! And of course, light is essential to the perception of color. My eyes are happy to enjoy the colors all around me. The complexity of vision is an every-day miracle. God designed our eyes to respond to light, and as light literally travels through the optic nerve into our brains, we are indeed filled with light. The first thing that God declares good is the light! May my vision be restored to bask in the beauty and goodness of God’s light.
